“Be a hero, adopt a hero.” This weekend BSG was privileged to meet Alessandra “Sandy” Kellermann, president and founder of Homefront Hugs USA, Inc. which has its headquarters right here in Ann Arbor. The purpose of this nonprofit organization is to honor and support our troops, veterans, and their families. Volunteers write letters, send care packages and even “adopt a soldier.”
The process of sending individualized feedback (letters) to a soldier is a great example of SMART on a more personal basis. Everyone needs to hear they’re doing a good job. Sending these messages is a direct encouragement to our troops.
Alessandra and her son, Ed, write, “We are all volunteers trying to make this war more bearable for all, making sure no veteran feels forgotten. We wish everyone a wonderful summer season and pray our heroes come home soon safe to their loved ones once their missions are completed.”
