A plan to reduce car accidents by 80 percentĀ is well on its way to success. Connected Vehicle Technology, a partnered project of the University of Michigan and the U.S. Department of Transportation, is a perfect example of SMART strategy. This is a system that employs wireless technology to create a web of communication between your car, other cars, and the road.

These sensors: Systematically provide feedback; use Measures that are easy to interpret; Analyze the situation; Report to appropriate parties (i.e. the driver or police); and Translate the information into the best plan of action (i.e. slow down or avoid the intersection). While the principle of SMART strategy applies to auto technology as a plan of the future, it is also an innovative approach to business.
